Welcome to my webpage
My name is Edward Silver and I am a fully qualified professional integrative counsellor and I run a private practice for Couples, Adults, Young People and Children in Cavendish, near Sudbury on the Essex/Suffolk Border.
As an integrative counsellor I believe that we all think, feel and respond in diverse ways, which is why I feel it is important to work with you as a whole person, with the understanding that we will not simply examine the problem/issue you arrive with in isolation but as a part of your world and from your unique perspective.
I utilise a wide variety of counselling theory and technique including talking therapy, solution focused therapy, behavioural therapy, therapeutic art/play techniques and mindfulness to provide a creative and versatile service catering for people of all ages and backgrounds.

How can counselling help?
At times we can struggle to cope with what life brings…..This is why I offer you a safe, supportive and confidential space for you to work through the issues that are troubling you at your own pace. If you decide I am the right counsellor for you, we will work collaboratively to bring a greater awareness of what is happening in your life, to support you and help you to find your own path towards well-being. We can work together with the understanding that we will not merely examine the problem/issue in isolation but also in the wider context of your life and history.
Counselling and psychotherapy differs from other relationships, because it provides communication that is focused purely on you, helping you to explore what is important for you from your unique perspective. Talking things through with a counsellor can help you learn to recognise and use your inner resources to cope in times of stress, anxiety, bereavement, depression and emotional upheaval. As your counsellor I will not give you instruction or advice, instead I use my skills and training to support you in finding your own solutions and insights, while you revive and build upon your own self confidence.
Couples therapy may help you to understand and relate your differences and similarities to each other in ways that may strengthen and enrich your relationship or help you through the process of separation with a higher level of understanding.
